Maybe It's Just Me But Journalism Isn't Meant To Be Mean-Girl.

Maybe I'm just like this tattered, worn, silly old pink book. I've become, gasp, shocked at some of the tweets and fast posts by journalists and mainly of the real world variety. The ones that blithely send off tweets and sort of manage to scold/chastise/mock/denigrate all in the name of cool social media. Without even blinking, I responded to one with a pithy (sorry) why would you. But I meant it. not just because Winona Ryder is an award winning actress who also sends donations off without any fuss. Not sure that anyone who's left a mistake or two behind should be labelled by that act.

The tweet that finally did it: "Caroline Giuliani busted shoplifting @ Sephora! Not that we're getting any ideas but if u were pulling a Winona, what would u have snatched?'

There is so much wrong with that tweet - or maybe it's me.

  1. Hmmmm, I'm just wondering -- are all Tweets are Journalism? I expect a high standard from you as a Professional, but not from them ; ) That's why I'm reading this instead of that!

  2. I understand the need for tweeting, but I don't have enough time in the day to pump out stupid garbage like that! Something funny once in a while, or simply the link to my blog post.

  3. well, a lot of information out there i guess, some necessary and some definitely not..for sure! we just need to stay focused what is important to us in life and swipe the ignorance around away, at lest try to make the best out of it! ;)

thank you sweets, for leaving such lovely comments always! greets!

  4. just the other day my friend was telling me that he liked my blog but it was always so nice, its simple when I don't like something I just don't put it up, I don't have time for all the negative stuff just becasue there are a lot of other people out there that do that already and I don't have time for that.

  5. It's so true. I was on twitter the other
day and the amount of ridicule they were
sending Paris Hiltons way it was ridiculous.
These aren't journalists these are idiots.
Great post, once again something I can sink my
    fingers into.
