The Supreme Court and How Could They

Monday morning coffee, videos and photos from Dolce & Gabbana, Prada, Armani, waiting for the plumber to do whatever is necessary to restore hot water, separating dogs and kittens, and idly reading the New York Times (please read the article, link at the bottom).

Seven Chinese Muslims held at Guantanamo for eight years have been determined to not be a threat to America. Afraid of being returned to China where they are still considered terrorists and could therefore be executed, they have asked to be released to the United States. No court has ruled in their favor and thus five remain at Guantanamo; Switzerland accepted only two.

This happened before and Steven Spielberg made a movie, The Terminal, with Tom Hanks and Catherine Zeta-Jones; it was based on a true Kafka-esque story but there was a happy ending.

It reached the Supreme Court, Kiyemba v. Obama, 08-1234, and they will not hear it. The complete article here from the NY Times ...
